Image-based data-capture

Depending on the application, traditional AIDC (Auto Identification and Data Capture) may involve a compromise in terms of speed, accuracy, field of view or cost. With our image-based data-capture solution Visidot there is no need to compromise.

The benefits of image-based data-capture

  • Capturing hundreds of tags in mere seconds.
  • Identification of all tags regardless of location and orientation
  • Detection of tags that are partially blocked from view or corrupted
  • Detection of assets with missing or non readable tags
  • Visual indication of precise asset location, allows easy error correction

   --->  OFFERING 100% ACCURACY !

How does it work?

Visidot is essentially a combination of hardware units (capture devices, lighting elements and others) and state-of-the-art software.

Typical process:

  • Assets labeled with barcode (1D), Data Matrix (2D) or other industry standard tags pass through a Visidot Gate
  • Image capture is initiated utilising one or more capture devices,
  • Hundreds of tags are simultaneously captured in a single pass
  • Captured images are quickly processed and decoded
  • All decoded data are merged, eliminating duplicated data from overlapping captures and applying highly granular, user specified data filters
  • Captured results are delivered in the form of XML files
  • The decoded data is automatically compared to the shipping order (or any other defined business rules
  • Operators are given real-time alerts about any discrepancy along with visual guidance for corrective action
  • Data is stored for reports and statistics. Images are archived for visual proof of delivery and asset conditions
