When you handle around 140 000 tonnes of freight and over 25 million parcels every year, genuine end-to-end traceability via a fast, efficient and user-friendly system is an absolute must. Which is why the Heppner Group, France’s leading independent logistics provider, chose ZetesInterscan to develop and implement a fully customised solution for its global operations.

Real-time access to critical track-and-trace data

As part of the project, some 50 logistics sites throughout France were equipped with 500 Motorola MC 9090 mobile terminals, enabling staff to scan parcels at each critical step of the handling process within the Heppner network. The resultant track-and-trace data is accessible in real time throughout the organisation via an efficient, user-friendly interface linked to a customer-side web server.

In order to measure the success of the project, operational indicators were defined for every section of the logistics flow and measured every two weeks. The results clearly demonstrate the system’s positive impact on performance.
