3i Voice Solution integrated with SAP helps Visionlab boost productivity
As a leading, fast-growing optical chain in Europe, Visionlab had to update its supply systems to increase delivery speed and improve service. They opted for a combination of automatic carousels and the Zetes 3iV Voice Solution to optimise their logistics processes. With Zetes’ 3iV SAP-integrated solution, Visionlab improved efficiency of receiving, order preparation, consolidation and inventory processes.
A natural voice interface
Once the 3i Voice Solution was implemented, operators could perform all tasks hands-free. Equipped with mobile voice terminals (Talkman T5 from Vocollect) and headsets with microphones, warehouse operators can communicate real-time with the host system simply by giving voice instructions. The system tells them the location of the item and the quantity that needs to be picked or put away. Random checks correct potential mistakes on the spot.
Improved productivity and reduced errors with an SAP certified solution
Visionlab’s customer service relies on timely and accurate around-the-clock deliveries and keeping transparent, reliable stock is crucial. Thus, they decided to store all order information in one SAP database and it was important that the solution they chose integrated with SAP to further automate the logistics process. The main benefits of the integration are improved efficiency, speed of data entry and real-time exchange of information. This gives Visionlab the desired reliability, traceability and visibility. The integration of the 3i Voice Solution into the SAP-driven automated distribution centre has allowed Visionlab to improve its logistics processes and to keep their promise to customers of delivering glasses in under an hour. The project was awarded second place in the Premios Centro Español de Logistica Empresa (Spanish Business Logistics Centre Awards), and was praised by the jury for its innovative approach in a pioneering logistics installation.
